Winter always brings the cold. And less travelling. And less to do in general, as far as Rose is concerned. Oh it's very nice for a little while, but time seems so different after being human this long. Perceiving it and existing in it as a human. A month used to be quicker than the blink of an eye, and now it feels like a month.
It's not a bad thing, not really. She likes being able to experience time the way a human does, for it to match her humanity. She likes to think she's really getting this whole human thing down.
And besides. It's not like she's stuck in the caravan bored by herself. Being alone is never something she needs to worry about in this world, and certainly not now. Of course there's always her Pokemon, but more pointedly, there is JW. He really is such a unique man, and she's known and observed so many men. As prickly as he can seem, there's so much more to him. And she's lucky enough to see it.
She's watching him now as she contemplates. This life really is something she'd never imagined, but it's all so wonderful. There are so many reasons she's lucky. It really is amazing. Maybe someday she'll understand how all this is even possible, but she really doesn't care all that much. The whys and hows don't matter any. What matters is here and now and every day spent in this world with the funny, wonderful man she's found to share those days with.
Unable to simply sit and watch and think any longer, Rose springs to her feet and swoops over to JW, throwing her expansive arms around him in a burst of joyful emotion.
JW had never liked winter much in the states--mostly because he never saw much snow unless it was a terrible ice storm because none of the roads or towns were set up to deal with weather like that. So it was either just wet and miserable or an actual natural disaster.
Here? He could watch the snow fall outside the caravan window. If they needed to go anywhere, they had a pair of strong horses to carry them anywhere they desired. And the company was, in a word, healing. After what happened in Westchester, he wasn't sure he could fall in love again. But it seems like love had fallen into him in a big way. Rose had been a force of good in his life from the moment he set foot into this strange world. He never imagined he'd be sharing a life with her.
A flock of Pidgey were scratching away in the snow at the base of a tree outside and JW found himself smiling quietly. Even if he still didn't have any birdlike Pokemon (having traded Skipper away for a Nymble a little while ago) he still liked to think of himself as a bird enthusiast. A Birder, maybe. He moves to dig his Poke'Gear out of his pocket so he can read the Pidgey entry for the one hundredth time when suddenly--
"MMPH!" JW's arms are pinned neatly to his sides as he straightens like a pencil. He doesn't stay startled for long however. A dumb, wobbly grin crosses his face before he pretends to fight for freedom. "Augh! Unhand me, woman!"
Rose grins right back and lifts JW up as he squirms with no real intent, pressing a loud kiss to his cheek. She practically envelops him, holding him closely to her. He's all angles and long limbs in contrast to her vast softness. Her hair tumbles forward, the light through her curls tinging things slightly pink. There's something particularly delightful about that little detail and she laughs.
JW falls under attack of one million kisses and he howls a defeated, "Nooooo!" as he is killed until he is dead. His ears are pink and he's a little out of breath from laughing. He likes that she's got a death grip on him. She's so strong. She could probably break him over her knee if she had a cruel bone in her body.
"Oh!" Rose still laughs, but she pulls her head back and shakes it furiously, sending her curls bouncing back over her shoulders. Most of them, anyway. There is a great deal of hair to be moved, and only so much space to move it to.
Otherwise it's going to happen again. Rose's hair has a mind of its own - sometimes quite literally, when Batty was nestled deep inside of it. Casually, she sets him back on his feet and turns to rummage through a nearby drawer. Nearby drawers, in her experience, usually have a nice random assortment of useful items.
And this is no exception. She retrieves two large banana clips and a scrunchie. With a few grunts of effort, she pulls her curls back and secures them. There. That should hold for at least a little while.
JW waits patiently for Rose to adjust her hair. He loves the way it frames her eyes but it's also nice seeing more of her pretty face. Her wide grin gets an equally wide but goofier grin out of him and suddenly he has an idea.
In a flash, he's jumped from the floor to the top of the little table that holds said useful drawer with his long grasshopper legs. And then he jumps again, striding long-ways onto the bed where he turns and crouches, ready to dash at a moment's notice.
Rose purses her lips in thought, her eyes remaining playful. She needs to be careful - despite the caravan being sized for her, she's still big. It's still an enclosed space. With lots of things.
JW certainly has the advantage, with his much slimmer frame and long limbs. This requires some serious thought and strategizing!
Rather than chase after him, she tries to position herself quickly where he's going to be, one arm oustretched....
JW crouches on the bed, feet wide apart, and watches her intently. He knows she's faster than she looks and he does want her to catch him, but he wants to give her a little trouble first.
He fakes to the left, then springs over to the small half-table they eat breakfast at, upsetting a decorative saucer. Luckily it doesn't tip over onto the floor.
Rose pivots as quickly as she dares, taking a lunging step in his direction. She hopes none of the Pokemon are underfoot, this would be a terrible time! For both her and any Pokemon that got under her feet.
Hopefully they've the better sense to stay out of the way.
"If that's the case...I'll have to gobble you up when I catch you!"
He's halfway to the window when Rose collides with him. He lets out a delighted yell and a half-strangled laugh. They knock a framed photo of their hoses off the wall--luckily it was a picture without glass.
"HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN" he wails. He has been CAPTURED!!! WOE!!!

Her hair gets in his mouth.
"Phpt-pthtpt--im dying for real I think. Phttp!"

Still, most of it is maneuvered out of the way.
"We certainly don't want that! Is that better?"
She hasn't let him go yet, though.

"You may now continue..." in a level, matter of fact tone.
He gets ahead start I. Kicking his feet. Help! Help! He's being attacked!!

"Alright. Now...where were we?"

"Gotta catch me!"

He leaps back to the bed and angles his way around toward the window he was looking out before. But will he be fast enough?

Rose takes a quick look in front of her and around, ascertains there's nothing horribly fragile or breakable in the immediate area, and lunges.
She cries out as she does so, launching herself at JW like a cannon ball.
